Head Teacher Message

Welcome to Croftway Primary Academy!

I am delighted to welcome you to our school. If you are viewing our website for the first time, thank you for visiting us! We hope this website gives you a flavour of our academy.

Croftway is part of a Multi-academy Trust with two other schools in the local area, Malvin’s Close and Morpeth Road. Croftway converted to an academy in June 2013 becoming part of The Blyth Quay’s Trust. You can find out more about our Trust at

At Croftway we are passionate about education and aim to develop confident, independent learners. I am very proud to lead a caring staff who are dedicated to the development of the whole child in a safe, secure environment enabling each child to be the best they can.
We are a warm and friendly school with a great family atmosphere. We constantly strive for high academic standards whilst also nurturing the children's creativity and skills for life. It is very important to us that our children have every opportunity to fulfil their potential and to become prepared for high school and adult life.

Our ethos is very much based on traditional British values; Respect, Resilience, Determination, Honesty, Teamwork and Confidence so that we all show tolerance and treat each other well. We explore values which are important to society, alongside our own values which support our behaviour for learning.

At Croftway we believe that only secure and happy children will achieve their true potential as effective learners. Our school logo is ‘The Home of Learning’, our curriculum is lively and engaging and is bespoke to the children growing up in Blyth but also being prepared for life in an ever-changing, multi-cultural Britain. The staff make lessons interesting so that the children learn as much as they can.

We are an active school, having achieved a Distinction for High Quality Physical Education and Sport in March 2015, a prestigious quality mark only achieved by two other primary schools in the North East. Many extra-curricular clubs are offered each term eg football, netball, tag rugby, running, multi-skills, basketball, tennis, hockey, cycling as well as creative clubs such as knitting, craft and sewing.

This website aims to give you a taster of the school, as well as providing up to date information for parents, pupils and the wider community. Please have a look at our curriculum and phases of school pages which show photos and videos of us in action!

We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website, and that you find the information you are looking for. If you would like to visit the school as a prospective parent or carer please contact the school office on 01670 353258.
